Celebrating its 50th anniversary, AUVSI brings its world class annual conference, XPONENTIAL, to Orlando, Apr. 25-28. The event invites industry changemakers and end users to experience new technology that is solving real world problems and varied programming and networking opportunities.
Organizations involved with AUVSI’s existing advocacy efforts or those who want to learn more about getting involved, as well as individuals working in government, policy, regulatory, and communications roles are encouraged to attend key advocacy sessions during the week:
Making Data Work For Us
Tuesday, April 26 | 1:45 PM - 2:00 PM
AUVSI and MITRE Corporation are proposing an initiative to support organizations’ strategic collection and use of data - as well as assist the broader industry and regulators through risk assessment and overall integration and safety efforts.
Join Michael Robbins, AUVSI Executive Vice President of Government & Public Affairs, and Michelle Duquette, MITRE Corporation’s Outcome Leader, NAS Integration of UAS and Commercial Space for a discussion and initial presentation about this initiative.
AAM Focus Group
Wednesday, April 27 | 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
One of the key attributes of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is its ability to combine and build upon a variety of existing, developing, and new technologies and operations within aviation. Rather than happening in a vacuum, AAM draws from - and expands on - both UAS and traditional GA activities.
Michael Robbins and Policy Advisor Anna Dietrich will lead a conversation to explore how AUVSI can best serve the AAM community with our advocacy work at the local, state, tribal, federal, and international levels. They will preview some of AUVSI's initial strategic planning around AAM advocacy, including building a roadmap for autonomy and adapting the safety continuum concept, and solicit feedback as well as new ideas and areas of potential emphasis from the community.
The goal of this session is to guide AUVSI's advocacy work in the AAM space, build on existing momentum, and lay the foundations for a future AAM-focused event that leverages AUVSI's thought leadership and convening power to support the entire AAM community.

Monday, April 25 | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET
Tuesday, April 26 | 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM ET
The industry’s only conference for automated goods movement technology specifically, this co-located event will dig into timely and critical topics that will enable the continued safe deployment of innovations such as automated trucks, warehouse robotics, and low-speed delivery devices.
Attendees will learn from industry leaders including Florida State Senator Jeff Brandes, Nat Beuse of Aurora, Kaylee Nix of FreightWaves, Christina Aizcorbe of Velodyne, and many others. Standout panel conversations include digging into law enforcement interaction plans, state government approaches to AV integration, defining a safety case, and what commercialization of these technologies look like. Click here for the full agenda and list of speakers, and reach out to Jackie Beckwith with any questions.
AUVSI is proud to co-host the Drone Symposium with FAA, resuming in-person this year and coinciding with the XPONENTIAL location and time. In keeping with this year’s theme “Arise,” the Symposium will focus on the expansion and advancement of how drones are helping businesses do business.
Messages & Learnings from the BVLOS ARC
Thursday, April 28 | 1:20 PM
The Beyond Visual Line of Sight Aviation Rulemaking Committee (BVLOS ARC) was an opportunity for aviation stakeholders to develop suggestions on a regulatory path to routine BVLOS operations. Key figures from the ARC will discuss the background behind the ARC’s recommendation report and its implications moving forward and UAS Integration Office Executive Director Jay Merkle will offer insights.
Drone Integration: Where We’ve Been & Where We’re Going
Thursday, April 28 | 2:20 PM
Drone integration has accelerated at a rapid pace, largely due to the strong partnerships between FAA; industry; and local, state, and tribal governments. Michael Robbins will join FAA and industry representatives to discuss insights gained from collaboration, recent precedent-setting approvals, and other accomplishments that have enabled more complex operations to take place and helped business to do business.
