Altitude Angel to provide Netherlands' ANSP with its first nationwide UTM platform

Following an open and competitive tender process, Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) technology provider Altitude Angel has been awarded the contract to provide Netherlands’ Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP), Luchtverkeersleiding Nederland (LVNL), with its first nationwide UTM platform. Altitude Angel says that the technically advanced, nationwide, UTM platform that it is providing the Netherlands will serve as the foundation for the safe integration of UAS, helping to further increase the use of this technology in Dutch airspace for years to come.

ANRA Technologies, everis ADS collaborating to develop UTM technologies

ANRA Technologies and everis Aerospace, Defense, and Security (everis ADS) have partnered to develop comprehensive Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM) and U-Space technologies for safe and efficient low altitude airspace operations. Through the agreement, the entities will leverage their respective strengths, including ANRA’s software platform for UTM. Meanwhile, everis ADS, which develops “differential solutions based on the integration of innovative technologies,” will bring its expertise to the table.

2nd annual NY UAS Symposium to highlight issues facing industry, importance of UTM

The second annual New York UAS Symposium, hosted by Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research (NUAIR), will look to build off of a successful 2018 symposium that brought in more than 300 participants. This year’s symposium will give attendees a chance to talk with fellow UAS industry leaders representing all sides of the industry — including from the FAA, NASA, and the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), to name a few — make new connections, and discuss key issues that the industry is facing. According to Michael Hertzendorf, interim CEO for NUAIR Alliance, the number one challenge that the industry faces is public adoption.

Apex Unmanned and RelmaTech partner to promote benefits of UAS Remote ID and tracking technologies

UAS consulting company Apex Unmanned and technology company RelmaTech have agreed to collaborate on the promotion of the benefits that UAS Remote Identification and tracking technologies can offer. Apex Unmanned and RelmaTech are partners on the Nevada team that NASA recently selected to execute its NASA Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management (UTM) Technical Capability Level (TCL) 4 program. Under the leadership of the Nevada Institute for Autonomous Systems (NIAS), the Nevada UAS Test Site was selected to execute TCL4 through a competitive process with six other states.

ANRA Technologies' UTM platform implemented into New York State UAS test site

ANRA Technologies’ UAS traffic management (UTM) platform has been successfully implemented into the New York State UAS test site by the Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research Alliance (NUAIR) and Griffiss International Airport in Rome, New York. With this implementation, the test site’s capabilities have been advanced thanks to the enhancement of multiple, simultaneous beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations that involve both manned and unmanned vehicles sharing the same airspace. Additionally, ANRA Technologies not only enhances tracking, but it also supports network based Remote ID and detect-and-avoid capabilities.

AirMap and Honeywell developing UAS tracking platform

To provide airspace safety authorities with situational awareness of both unmanned and manned aircraft operations within an airspace system, AirMap and Honeywell have announced the development of a cost-effective UAS tracking platform. The companies say that they will collaborate on the development of a cost-effective hardware device that allows UAS to maintain consistent communication with a UAS Traffic Management (UTM) system. The UAS tracking platform will support several communication options, including 4G and satellite in areas without 4G coverage, to facilitate the broadcast of real-time drone telemetry feeds to a UTM system.
